unfortunately social media puts the activist meeting, the bitching session, the public outreach, the group therapy session, the silly blow off some steam gossiping about people private chat, and the group d&d session all in the same place, and so people mistake, for example, an outpouring of legitimate grief and rage as somehow a public-facing political statement, or a carefully edited and tactical political statement as a reflection of a person’s most deeply held private feelings, etc

sibling relationships are so strange… like i love you. you will never understand me in a way that matters. we are the same person in drastically different ways. we are sewn together. we don’t talk. we are attached at the hip. you wish i was never born. can i call you. let’s eat together. i forgive you. etc

saw someone refer to not knowing how to keep track of your money as “girl math” ……why are we in this weird era of treating women like idiots but repackaging it to sound cute and quirky. We All Need To Stop

at this point i also take issue with those tweets/posts that are of the genre “girls were meant to sit in their bed with treats and do nothing all day” it was fun and #relatable maybe the first few times but it’s really just feeding into this weird mass objectification and dehumanization of women going on all over every social media platform now

Gray day

[I.D. a four panel watercolor comic of a gray bird on a rainy day. panel one shows the bird perched on a branch facing away from the viewer with writing that says “rain rain rain all day”. panel two is a closeup of the bird’s face with “rain to make that perfect gray”. panel three is the bird in profile, looking at the rain amidst branches, leaves and berries with “rain to keep people away”. the final panel has the bird standing in a puddle with “rain so i can puddle-play”. end I.D.]
